It is our GREAT pleasure to present the HOST OF THE YEAR for Lilla By Festival, August 27, 2022! - David RIX and our artists and musicians.
DavidRix (SE)
David is well known to the Kristianstad public as both a musical artist and actor.
He has worked as an actor since 2001 but also works as a student coach at Sånnaskolan in Åhus.
David has appeared in several musicals at Kristianstad's theater most recently in the hit Chess - in Swedish. David is also a director and writer and has directed Emils Sigfridsson's productions at Kristianstad's theater since 2011. David is also directing the 2023 new production of The Phantom of the Opera at Kristianstad's Theatre.
David has also played Beadle Bamford in Pipedream Productions' production at Lund's city theater and Keno in Goodshow Productions' production Allt ou Inget at Hässleholms Kulturhus.

The Garbage Commission receives a letter from a desperate girl who writes that her whole town is being destroyed by garbage! Can the Waste Commission help her? Yes, of course, Asta mail, garbage detectives move out. Together with her friends, she solves the mysterious case of the unsorted garbage and on the way the nasty garbage monsters make lots of new friends!

The Magnettes (SE)
The Magnettes formed in Pajala, Norrbotten and have toured 19 countries, including performances at SXSW, Summerfest, Golden Melody Awards, Eurosonic and Tallinn Music Week.
The debut album "Ugly Youth" was released in 2017 and contained the singles "Sad Girls Club" (heard in Netflix's "Elitskolan") and "Young And Wild" (top-10 most played Swedish song on P3 2017). They appeared in SVT's Musikhjälpen, P3 Sessions, participated in #MINSQUAD and were also heard in TV4's "Finaste familien", MTV's "Teen Mom" and the film "Turpa Kiinni Minun Haters", which is loosely based on the band's life .
In 2020, the single "American" rotated steadily on Swedish radio, and the band spent the pandemic performing digital showcases at events such as Mu:Con (South Korea), SIM (Brazil), CRANC (Spain), Mondo NYC (USA). The full-length documentary "The Magnettes", where we get to follow the band for two years, premiered in February 2020.
In 2021, the band released two specially written singles "We Make It Look Easy" dedicated to Luleå Hockey and "Tangerine Skies" dedicated to Luleå Pride". They also released a documentary about the band on tour which is available on SF anytime under the name "The Magnettes" which got 4 plus from Aftonbladet.
In 2021, they signed with the new music company K51, where "Monster" became the first joint release.

Christoffer Zaar (SE)
Ystad-based Christoffer Zaar with band offers a new musical experience with good swing and sweet vocals.
The self-written material contains catchy melodies and personal texts in Swedish. The listener can expect alternative pop with elements of e.g. rock, indie and folk.
The single "What Happened?" has been played extensively on Sweden's Radio P4 Kristianstad, and the single "Dumt" has gone home in Norway.
Zaar's debut album "Drama" is being recorded and together with the band, the sound is now steered in a more organic direction. Already this summer, the taste test and the single "Summer evening" will be released, containing extra everything.

Vera Kronbäck (SE)
From musical to soul and pop. Vera draws inspiration from Kristianstad, London and now Stockholm. She has for many years sung favorites and classics and made them her own. In addition to some classics, we now, for the first time, get to hear some samples of her own material written just for her.
It will be soul and pop mixed with Vera's big voice. In the band we find Stefan Koro on keyboard, Fredrik Kronbäck on guitar, Philip Schrewelius on bass and Robin Rignell on drums.

Waterhill (SE)
Waterhill is the rock band that writes and produces their own music inspired from the 70s and 80s. With their own sound and empathy, the band has found a wide audience that is growing in number. It is on stage and the meeting with the audience that inspires and gives energy to the music.
The band has its roots in the northeast Scania crowd.

drummer Jimmy Månsson.

A Tiny Project (SE)
A Tiny Project is Tina Ljungqvist's ongoing project where she brings her original music in singer/songwriter style to larger ensembles.
The result is a mix of pop, Latin and piano ballads, with an emphasis on making music fun!

Mother Mercy (SE)
Malmö-born Mother Mersy has been around since 2015 and has been spreading her take on blues-influenced retro rock ever since. With captivating live performances filled with raw energy and emotion, the group has established itself as a strong card on the Swedish and Danish rock scene.
The group is inspired by bands and artists such as David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, Aerosmith, Jeff Buckley, Rival sons and Led Zeppelin, but also by the dark portraits of Stephen King's novels and the powerfully uncompromising participants in Ru Paul's Dragrace. The music shifts from dirty up-tempo rock n' roll to melancholic, psychedelic ballads from a place where old school 70s rock meets contemporary rock n' roll. Or as the band themselves put it: "the way we think rock n' roll should sound in 2022; unapologetically energetic and soulful".

Finally!! Now things have picked up again for Bara Jonson and Free.

Then they opened together with Cirque Arté Diem Byggnad's 2022 congress in Stockholm. There were four performances together during one and the same day at Kristianstad's wonderful theater, on Culture Night.
And now finally! After two years of work and waiting, they now have the release of their vinyl album, Sky Is The Limit.

Michelle Titian (CA)
A natural talent with a powerful story, Michelle Titian is a world-class Canadian singer-songwriter who brings raw emotion and real substance to a yearning music industry. Don Graham is an established country rock artist of the Canadian music scene, known as a legendary country rock singer/songwriter and story teller. He has had a career as a performer, songwriter, publisher, record producer and music journalist.
His start in the recording industry was as a member of pioneer Canadian country rock act Graham County signed a U.S. deal with MCA records and had a Pick Hit in the trusted U.S. publication Cashbox Magazine in 1972.
As a songwriter he was signed to Irving Almo Publishing in Toronto at the same time as Bryan Adams and Eddie Schwartz and has written for Canadian teen idol Bobby Curtola among others.
His last record release “I Just Called Him Dad” was recorded in Muscle Shoals Alabama with the legendary Norbert Putnam he and is currently writing with Grand Ole Opry star Michael Peterson.
Don is also one of the contributing artists on the new Americana compilation for a legendary folk rock artist soon to be announced. Don continues to write songs and live his hometown in Toronto, Ontario in the Beach Area.

Jocke & Matte (SE)
Jocke & Matte is the troubadour duo for all occasions. They are very used to all kinds of events and their repertoire is wide. They have a laid-back way of performing music and we are happy to invite them.

Wicked Wendy (SE)
Wicked Wendy plays progressive melodic metal and is based in Hässleholm in Scania.
The sound has been called "classic Gothenburg death metal but without the characteristic growl", instead the band's singer has a register that goes from smoky and raspy to loud and starry in 5 seconds.

A.L.E.K.S (BG)
A.L.E.K.S. (Aleks) is lifelong student of songcraft and music artistry. He's been incredibly blessed and fortunate to be able to perform his music on all kinds of stages. Everything from small music venues and radio station platforms, all the way to televised shows (The Voice of Bulgaria) and big festivals like ParkLife in the UK.
Aleks is a graduate of the BIMM Manchester with a Diploma in Songwriting. As a songwriter, he believes in being present in every single aspect and layer of music creation.
For Aleks, songwriting is all about being honest with yourself, and that will always come through in your music. His approach allows him to capture a moment in time and transmit it through his lyrics, melodies and song structures in an organic and genuine way.
People across the world experienced many changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Aleks tried to combine and transform the challenges that were sent his way to his advantage, and turn his Late Night Thoughts into something truthful and valuable. Two years ago, he began the process of recording his debut EP of all new and original music, which everyone is sure to get hooked, especially if they are a fan of R&B, Soul and Pop. The song "Gone" was the pilot single of the EP release.
Prior to starting work on the Late Night Thoughts, Aleks was scouted to appear on the TV reality program "The Voice" in his native Bulgaria, where he competed until the final round.
During the course of the show Aleks won the hearts of the TV audiences with the EP's signature track "Shivers".
Most recently Aleks has released the song "Empty Room" in his native Bulgarian to wide media acclaim. In May he participated in the first Bulgarian Showcase Festival SPIKE, which took place in Aleks' home town Plovdiv. During the hot summer months one can find Aleks on stages all over the country, and in preparation for the release of new material and plans for taking over the international market with his inimitable style and disarming vocal melodies.
Aleks is a graduate of the BIMM Manchester with a Diploma in Songwriting. As a songwriter, he believes in being present in every single aspect and layer of music creation.

Anton Sandén (SE)
Anton Sandén, started his music career at a very young age. After a few years as an artist, the musical path continued as a producer for a number of Swedish artists. But with a brand new own album in the style of country/pop/rock with influences of 80s synths, it was time to get on stage and give the audience 100% Anton Sandén.
Love Berggren (SE)
After winning the artist Maximus' competition on Instagram, Love was able to record his first own song "Chans". After 1.5 years, he releases more music with the help of Tom Mårtensson.
This is how Love describes his music:
I have teamed up with another artist called William / WillTech. We have created a song together that we think gives us "Summer Vibes" And that is what we want to convey, that summer gives good vibes and it is important to feel joy in difficult times. As I have always said "listening to happy music makes you really happy. But if you listen to sad songs, Aa then you get really sad" sometimes you need to cry but you should never forget that important thing in life, to be happy and do what you love. And all that becomes easier with happy music at maximum volume. Or how?
